So you want to build your own camper? Right on!
Building a camper from scratch is an incredibly rewarding process and leaves you with something to show off in the campground for years to come.
But the process can feel daunting.
What should you look for when buying a trailer? What materials should you use? How do you handle plumbing and electrical? How much money should you spend? And once it's done, how should you use it and where can you take it?
We are going to help you cut through the confusion - to not only learn how to properly build your DIY camper, but also make major decisions about what you need and how much you should spend.
In DIY Trailer School, we will walk you step-by-step through the entire process of converting a trailer into a beautiful travel camper or tiny home. With high-quality videos, tons of written content, and all the resources we used to build our own camper, we will have you out on the road in no time.
The adventures of your dreams are ready and waiting. All you need are the steps to get there.
In 2021, we converted a 7 x 14 foot enclosed cargo trailer in a beautiful tiny home on wheels.
Throughout the course of planning, building, and using our trailer, we've learned a TON about what works and what doesn't, how to plan a trailer build, and where to cut costs and cut corners.
But in the process, we've learned that the trailer building community needs much more than just technical help with building. They need guidance for picking what type of trailer to buy, how much they should be prepared to spend, and how to deal with challenges that a DIY trailer has that a regular RV does not.
They need someone who has done it and done it well - someone to guide them through the entire process start-to-finish.
That's why we created DIY Trailer School, to help aspiring builders learn from our successes (and failures), and to share all kinds of incredible resources that we've assembled along the way.
I know all too well how intimidating it can be to tackle a project of this scale. I've been there.
I got stuck in the technical weeds for months leading up to finally puling the trigger but the biggest problem? I was afraid to take the leap.
I was afraid to put this giant metal box in my yard and let it sit there while I sat around and tried to figure out what to do with the damn thing.
I don't want you to feel like that. I want you to be excited that you are about to tackle a once-in-a-lifetime project.
A big part of that feeling - that excitement to tackle the next step - is knowing you have a place to go when you have questions or need encouragement. DIY Trailer School has built-in ways for you to get the help you need.
Whether you're looking for technical help for the plumbing in your setup or you want feedback on your paint colors. I've got just the thing for you.

The Trailer School Academy is our private student community - a place where you can ask questions when you're stuck or share ideas and get honest feedback from other adventurers like you.
Why should I pay for this when all the content is on YouTube for free?
Excellent question! YouTube and Google have thousands of free resources to help you start a trailer build, so if you’re strapped for cash, it’s a great place to start! With DIY Trailer School, you don’t have to sort through all the information on your own. It’s all the steps you need to design and build, in the right order. So instead of spending your precious time consuming endless free videos, you can focus your attention on implementing the skills you’ll learn on your own camper. I’m also showing you a behind-the-scenes look at my decision making process when planning a build, and how I designed my own trailer. This is an in-depth look not found anywhere else.
Do I really need this to build a custom camper?
Real talk? No, you don’t need this. Plenty of folks out there have built a custom camper through trial & error – including me!
But if you’re looking to save time by learning from my mistakes, skip the overwhelm, and avoid being distracted by the shiny objects you’re bound to come across – then this is for you.
How long is the course?
DIY Trailer School is broken into 6 Chapters with 45 total lessons and roughly 5 hours of content. You also get access to downloadable electrical and plumbing diagrams, part lists, and links to a TON of great resources that I used in my own build.
This sounds cool! But I don’t have time to commit to a course right now.
No worries! I know life can get pretty chaotic, which is why I created this to be a go-at-your-own pace course. You can binge watch all the lessons on the first day, do 1 chapter a month, or take 3 months if you need! You’ll also have lifetime access to this course, so you can revisit it when you are ready to tackle the course in your own time.
Why does this course cost so much? What If I don’t like it?
This course isn’t just a short PDF with some tips and tricks. This is a premium course with hours of video content and tons of resources. We put a LOT of work into this to make sure you have everything you need to get this project knocked out.
If you find you’re not feeling more confident about your build or satisfied with the course, that’s where the 30 Day Satisfaction Guarantee comes in. Email me here: corey@diycargotrailer.com and I’ll give you your money back. All of it. No question.
When will DIY Trailer School be open for enrollment again?
At this stage, this is the only time you can join DIY Trailer School. I’ll be busy tuning up the course, creating new high-quality content, and I want to make sure I’m supporting my current students. So doors won’t open again until later this year.
If building a custom camper is on your 2022 goals and you’d like a few new friends and a roadmap to show you the way, now is the best time to hop in!
What do I do if I still have questions?
Awesome! Send them over to me at corey@diycargotrailer.com and we’ll get back to you ASAP.
